California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, which grants consumers new rights with respect to the collection of their personal information has been signed into an Act On June 28, 2018.
The California Attorney General’s Office had proposed a final set of regulations on June 1st 2020. The regulations have now been approved on August 14, 2020 by the OAL (Office of Administrative law).
The regulations aim to establish procedures to facilitate consumers’ rights under the CCPA and provide guidance to businesses for how to comply.
A substantial amendment has been passed in the form of California Privacy Rights Act CPRA 2020 effective from January 1, 2023. Provisions of this amended act is provided in a different colour in the document
